This 5-inch utility knife is a size up from a paring knife, and is well suited for medium-sized cutting jobs too big for a parer. The utility knife is also known as a sandwich knife, and is a great every-day use addition to the home or professional knife block.

Revolutionary FC61 carbide steel holds an extremely sharp edge and is incredibly durable, while the brushed polymer handle made of Duracon, a glass fiber enhanced POM, and full-tang construction result in a perfectly balanced knife that’s a joy to use.

Each Kramer Essential Collection knife is made in Seki City, Japan, and undergoes a rigorous 100-step, 42-day manufacturing process during which it passes through the hands of 45 expert artisans. As a finishing touch, each knife receives a central mosaic pin handcrafted in Bob Kramer’s personal studio. In 1992, Bob Kramer moved from working as door-to-door kitchen knife sharpener to opening his own knife-forging shop in Seattle. As a former chef, Kramer knew what made an exceptional knife, and with training from knife forging artisans, he learned what it took to create this essential tool. Bob Kramer is one of only about 100 Master Bladesmiths in the United States, and is the only one with this honor who creates only kitchen knives.
